About Us
Sitting in spacious grounds Thorpe House is a Grade 2 listed building located in the village of Almondbury in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire.
Since 1989 the unit has provided 24-hour care for adults aged 18 and over with severe and long-term mental health needs.
For instance the unit provides nursing care for adults with a range of mental health needs with a few of these being:
- Anxiety
- Bipolar affective disorder
- Dementia with challenging behaviours
- Depression
- Korsokoff’s syndrome
- Obsessive compulsive disorder
- Personality related issues
- Palliative Care
- Schizophrenia
Our well-established team are friendly and trained to deliver the best possible care. In addition to this our diverse team is made up of a mix of genders and ages to meet the needs and preferences of the residents we care for.
Registered nurses are on duty 24 hours a day and are supported by skilled and qualified care staff; including an Occupational Therapist and a Nutritionist, resulting in tailored care which meets the ever-changing needs of our residents.
At Thorpe House we aim to provide holistic care within a homely environment. Essential to our care provision is being person-centred and recognising choice, respect, dignity, consent and independence.
