Ways to keep in touch

One of the hardest things about the pandemic is maintaining a good relationship with family and friends. Communication is so important to keep people from feeling lonely and to help boost their mental health and wellbeing.
We now have a ‘POD’ which is a purpose-built meeting space which is COVID-19 safe and allows our residents to meet friends and family in a secure environment. On arrival at Thorpe House staff will guide you through our procedures and get you familiar with our policies when using the POD.
If you are unable to visit due to an outbreak or further lockdown, we have a number of ways for you or your loved one to keep in contact with each other. This includes:
- Residents pay phone
- Apple iPad
- Computer facilities with video calling
- Staff support to write letters or postcards
- Personal mobile phones
We support a range of video calling applications such as Skype, Zoom, FaceTime and Microsoft Teams.
Please give us a call if you would like to arrange a virtual visit with your loved one.
